Here are pictures of the Naan Bakery next to the hospital. They are a really good bunch of guys. They make everything by hand and the Naan is like thin crust pizza. It is really good they use wood to fuel the Tandoors(oven) so there is a nice smoke flavor to the Naan. I go over to the bakery about once a week and get Naan hot right out of the oven sooooo good.

Wow!! This is perfect!! Thanks so much Kevin. It makes it easier to visualize what I am currently reading in my book. And, regardless of our situation, it is always important to learn a new perspective on a culture that is unknown to most of us.
Great pic of you, by the way. It's neat the way you have met the locals in a very basic way...just picking up some naan at the local tandoor :-)
Stay safe and keep the pics of your experiences there coming!

Well kevin, despite all the bad things going on over there, it looks like you are experiencing some good things that most of us can only imagine. Hopefully these moments will make your time away from those who love you and miss you the most worthwhile in some small way. At the very least, maybe some of the Afghan people will realize that we are good people. We love you and are proud of you. Keep up the good work!
Kev....
Very interesting, it reminds me of what you said about the bread in Saudi when you were in the Gulf War. I print everything out and take it to Grandma. She is really enjoying your blog. You come by your love of hot bread naturally. And my cousin Susan is right....you do look like my Dad.
Stay safe...love you...Mom
Kevin,
